Information
It is the historic contest dedicated to Italian drag queens that has taken place every year since 2003 in the second half of July. In the early editions, drag artists from all over Italy gathered at Mamamia during July, creating a series of “heats” whose winners competed in a final.
Since 2006, regional selections have instead been organised to identify the candidates who will face each other in the national final. Since 2021 the contest has opened to all identities (Drag Kings, BioQueens, Trans Queens and non-cis performers), becoming Miss Drag Queen Italia +.
Make-up, costumes, mime, stage presence and originality are also judged, as well as looks. The title is an artistic recognition and a symbol of freedom of expression and queer visibility.
On stage: Singing · Dancing · Lip-sync · Comedy · Make-up and costumes · Stage presence.
Requirements
The contest is for adults only: you must be at least 18.
